Today's networks rely on a centralized physical cable plant that is centered in a network closet or equipment room. Relay racks and enclosures organize terminations from the physical cable pant and provide a secure way to mount expensive network equipment. Often this area is the last to receive attention that could prevent common network problems. Proper cable layout and support is often overlooked during the installation process causing long-term network problems.
